IC Information:
Name: Arcade Gannon
Fandom: Fallout: New Vegas
Timeline:sometime between when the Courier convinces him to become his/her follower and the ending of the main quest scenario.
Age: he himself states it as “late thirties”
Appearance: blonde hair, black-framed glasses, usually seen wearing a white lab coat.
Abilities: Arcade has some pretty serious medical training. Though most of his work involves research, he can tend wounds and has pretty much the same medical knowledge as your common doctor with a practice. He also speaks fluent Latin.
Personality: Arcade has an easygoing personality and he is generally friendly and personable. Despite the fact that he himself says that he is “not good with people”, he is a very charismatic individual and his easy charm and sense of humor make him a likable man. Arcade is very idealistic and he believes in a world where things are different, where the tensions between the factions that exist in the post-apocalyptic Wasteland do not exist and where conflicts can be resolved. When asked about himself, Arcade states that he is “really very boring” and uses humor, among other means, to deflect personal questions. He does not like talking about himself at all. Arcade is a homosexual and generally seems more comfortable around men than women even in a platonic setting.
History: Arcade was born in Navarro in the year 2246, the son of an officer of the Enclave, a faction that attempts to restore order to the Wasteland after the atomic war. Arcade's father passed away when he was still a baby, a casualty of a mission for the Enclave. Arcade grew up very close to his mother and was also taken under the wing of the group of soldiers that had once made up the unit that his father fought in. The makeshift family bonded closely and Arcade was a generally happy child. When the New California Republic captured Navarro, he and his family fled and attempted to live a normal life, but eventually the conflict that raged on forced them to end up much further east, and Arcade ended up in Nevada.
In his adult life, Arcade moved to the town of Freeside, just outside the remains of Las Vegas, and joined a group called the Followers of the Apocalypse, a group dedicated to helping others, in a hope to be able to use his skills. The Followers taught Arcade medicine and he worked as a doctor, though eventually he began to focus more on research, trying to find medicinal uses for the natural wildlife in the Mojave. Arcade chose research over medicine as he believes he is not good with people. Eventually, the Courier, the player character of the game, can recruit Arcade to be their companion and he leaves Freeside and wanders the Wasteland with him/her.
